WHO WE ARE
The Global Foam Dart Coalition is a group of loosely-affiliated groups and foam dart war enthusiasts who have banded together to create an easily-accessible directory of foam dart groups and venues around the world. The GFDC was started by Nerfrocketeer, who also runs two groups of his own (F.A.N.G. Foam Club and the Dayton Devastators), but is also kept in operating condition by the support and input of individuals and groups from around the world.
WHAT WE DO
Our primary goal is to organize and compile an easily understandable directory of foam dart enthusiast groups from every corner of the earth. We feel that giving those who are a part of this hobby a way to contact each other easily will help grow and improve the vitality of our subculture. We work to promote standards of morality, fairness, and fun across game venues while also helping to build new friendships. Besides building directories and running forums, we also compile and publish useful tips for those looking to get involved in the hobby or start their own club.
WHEN WE STARTED
WHERE WE OPERATE
The G.F.D.C. operates internationally via its website and its many participants.
WHY WE CARE
We want everyone in the foam dart enthusiast subculture- from the noobiest noob to the most seasoned veteran- to feel welcome, and to do this we feel that a universal communication system is necessary. We want foam dart gameplay to become a widespread phenomenon because it is more than just a fun activity; it builds friendships, provides physical exercise, allows for learning of scientific, engineering, and mathematics principles outside of school, and gives people a reason to explore both outside and inside of who they are as a person. This hobby can truly change, and in some cases save, lives, and we wish to give as many people as possible a chance to take part in the amazing experience of being a foam dart war enthusiast.
HOW WE WORK
We compile our directories in three different ways: by searching for groups ourselves, by being told about groups by other people, or by having groups submit their information to us. We compile our tips and tricks by either coming up with them ourselves or by being taught by other people. Our forums are run solely by us and a few trusted members.
